Guest speaker Aleida Jernigan focused on the ending verses, where Jesus commissions the 12 disciples. She brought thoughts and reflections from her recent trip to Geneva, Switzerland on the occasion of the reformer John Calvin's 500 anniversary of his birth.

About Aleida
Aleida is the Co-Executive Presbyter of the Northwest and Northeast Regions.  She works in the Portland office of the Presbytery of the Cascades.  She began this post in January of 2004.

Her education includes interim pastor training, new church development workshops and redevelopment/transformation training for congregations as well as advanced counseling skills. In her statement of faith, Aleida says "The church functions in the world as Jesus did in his early lifetime; preaching Good News, confronting evil, reaching out with love to the last, the least and the lost."
