The Rev. Brad Busiek, Pastor

Brad Busiek became the Pastor of Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church in July 2015. Previously, he served as the pastor of Newell Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC from 2001-2015. Brad grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated with a degree in biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. During college, Brad pitched for the school’s baseball team and worked at: the Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Assembly, First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, and Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston.  He received his Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. While in seminary Brad served as a pastoral intern at First Presbyterian Church in Toms River, New Jersey and as a chaplain at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.  In August of 2001, Brad married his wife, Amy, who is also a graduate from Princeton and an ordained pastor. Recently, she received her Masters in Social Work at George Fox University. Brad and Amy have two children: Benjamin and Phoebe.

Let's Meet for Coffee or Lunch

Pastor Brad would be happy to meet you at any restaurant or café near to where you live or work. (It is Dutch treat – we will pay for our own meals/beverages.) Pastor Brad can also meet you at your home, as long as there is somebody else in the house. (As you may be aware, in today’s world, professional ethics for pastors require that they do not meet with parishioners alone in private residences – unless it is a pastoral emergency.)  Feel free to call the church office to set up an appointment or you can view my calendar and sign up online.
